Tidbits About Me

I love to ski with my family and have gone skiing every season since I started at age 2. The mountains and snow bring me peace, healing, and endless fun!
I love to garden berries, herbs, veggies and flowers. My kids actually get tired of raspberries by the end of summer because we always have so many!
We welcomed our daughter at a freestanding birth center, and our son at a planned home birth.
my doula journey
MY STORY
I birthed my son at home, and my daughter at a freestanding birth center. Both experiences were wonderful, amazing, exhilarating, and transcendental! I felt loved, supported, and celebrated by my husband, midwives, and doula. I came to realize, though, that my experience sadly was not the norm.
Many of the moms who shared their birth stories with me had very different, sometimes even traumatic, stories to tell. I knew in my heart that I wanted to make a difference in my birth community so I became a doula. I strive to make this difference by supporting expectant parents every step of the way, providing education on how wonderful birth can be, so they can give birth without fear!

MY PHILOSOPHY
Birth is a transformative experience. Having experienced two amazing births myself, my goal is to help others to have an experience they can reflect on as being positive and empowering.
Our bodies are capable of doing this amazing work of bringing new life into the world, and that should be celebrated! With emotional, informational, and physical support, my goal is for families to welcome babies with all the love, positivity, and support they deserve.

What Clients Say...

Aubrey
"Heather truly made all the difference in my 2nd pregnancy and birth experience! I’ll always be grateful for her. She has such a calming and grounding presence and is immensely supportive. My first birth experience was traumatizing and we wish we could have had her back then. With Heather’s support, my second birth was healing, beautiful, and empowering."

Raya
"Heather was an invaluable part of our birth team and I'm SO happy and grateful that she was our doula. Heather is positive and encouraging and has a very grounded energy. During our pre-birth meetings she listened with care and asked the right questions to help me feel mentally prepared for birth. During our birth Heather was just amazing! She stayed present and by my side through a loooong all night and into the next day."

Bethany E.
"When I asked my midwife if she’d recommend I hire a doula, she said “for a first birth, in my opinion, a doula is completely essential. And I’m so glad I followed her advise. Even more than that, I’m so glad that Heather was the one I found to hire and have a part of my team. I truly feel like Heather was that person in my corner all day long, cheering me on and believing in me when I stopped believing in myself. I truly believe without her involvement I wouldn’t have been successful at the fully unmedicated birth experience I had planned and wanted. Her presence and expertise was invaluable!"

Nikki
"My husband and I feel like we hit the lottery in having Heather as our birth doula for our first baby. As a high risk pregnancy, I had a lot of questions and challenges along the way and a whirlwind birth and postpartum experience that Heather helped us through every step of the way. Heather is not only a very knowledgable and competent advocate, she's also a passionate person to have in your corner when things get chaotic, even in a pandemic."

Aliza
"Heather was exactly the down-to-earth, knowledgeable support I needed! She was there with us throughout my two day labor, keeping me focused and laughing! She helped bring my sweet baby boy into this world and I'm forever grateful!"
