My Doula Journey
MY STORY
I discovered my passion for supporting women and families during my time in nursing school. While I appreciated what I was learning, I realized that my heart was in hands-on care and building real relationships—not behind a chart. I wanted to give my full attention to the families I supported, to be present with them through every step of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. That’s when I knew that becoming a doula was the path for me.
Since then, I’ve been honored to walk alongside families during such a tender and powerful time. I love offering reassurance, encouragement, and practical support as they navigate the early days with their baby. My background as a nanny gave me a strong foundation in newborn care, and becoming a doula and newborn care specialist has deepened my ability to care for both babies and their parents.

MY PHILOSOPHY
I believe every woman has the right to a supportive pregnancy, birth and postpartum period. I strive to meet each of my clients exactly where they are, coming alongside their journey and providing the support they need. Whether that be a full night of sleep, get through the laundry or helping them learn how to use a baby carrier - my passion is to go over and beyond to nuture my clients.
My long-term goal is to expand access to doula support beyond my own community—reaching families across the country who may not otherwise have this kind of care. Being able to provide that support, especially in those early months, is something I feel deeply passionate about.

What Clients Say...

- Madison W. (Vancouver, WA)
"I have been working with Charley since the beginning of my pregnancy in October of 2022, she has been amazing during the pregnancy, birth and postpartum! Charley goes above and beyond in providing information to me and making sure I am educated in all matters of any subject I was curious about. During my birth, she was there the whole time suggesting different ways to make it easier for me, I wasn’t the easiest person to help, but she never got discouraged and was always there when I needed her. I can’t wait for my next pregnancy knowing that she will be there to help me through it."

- Alex B. (Portland, OR)
"Charley has been extremely helpful, encouraging, and knowledgeable during my pregnancy so far. She has answered all of my questions and has gone above and beyond when it comes to making me feel ready for the baby's arrival. My husband is more nervous than I am and Charley has been teaching him about what to expect during birth and beyond. He is less nervous now and enjoys the fact that he is involved in this. I couldn’t recommend Charley enough! She is kind, understanding, hard working, empathetic, and great at what she does!"

- Mariah (Vancouver, WA)
"When I reached out to Charley and told her what I desired in a postpartum doula, I felt an instant connection with her. She understood what I was asking and made sure that she would be available and assured me that she would be capable of supporting my family’s needs. Since having my 4th baby, she has gone above and beyond in caring for us. Not only do I trust her with my baby through the night which allows me the peace of mind to get the rest I need to heal, but she also manages to accomplish chores that I otherwise wouldn’t have time or energy to get to. As much as I wish I could keep her all to myself if I could, I feel compelled to type this review, so other postpartum moms contact her and experience her work! Hire her, you will not be disappointed."

- Carly H. (Portland, OR)
"Charley was an incredible support to our family, and we couldn’t recommend her more highly. She was not only dependable but also proactive in offering science-backed developmental insights and thoughtful recommendations on baby gear, making our transition into parenthood smoother. Her ability to anticipate our daughter’s needs was remarkable. Charley took initiative beyond basic care, seamlessly helping around the house in ways that made a real difference. What stood out most was how she tailored her approach to our daughter, recognizing her unique rhythms and preferences rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method. She left us as more confident as parents. Charley is truly exceptional."

- Meg (Portland, OR)
"As first-time parents, it was so reassuring to have an experienced doula to teach us the ins and outs of newborn care, and it was great to be able to consult her on our many questions. Charley also went above and beyond to help out around the house while our daughter was asleep, doing everything from organizing (she's a wizard!) to setting up gear. She's extremely easygoing, friendly and professional and we loved chatting with her when she was over. Most importantly, Charley made the fourth trimester not just manageable, but enjoyable. Thanks to her, we never felt the levels of sleep deprivation or overwhelm that you hear about before you have a child, and we are so grateful that we were able to have fun and feel great during this special period for our family. I would recommend Charley to anyone and would absolutely hire her again!"

- George & Victoria B. (Vancouver, WA)
"There are so many amazing things to say about Charley. She is loving, kind, supportive, flexible, dependable and incredibly knowledgeable about infant care. One of my favorite things about Charley is that she is always looking to deepen her knowledge about newborn care and she shares this knowledge with the families she works with. At 6 months old, our baby is so happy and Charley has played a huge role in that. She is a wonderful postpartum doula and we feel so lucky that she is part of our lives."
