Tidbits About Me

I love to ski with my family and have gone skiing every season since I started at age 2. The mountains and snow bring me peace, healing, and endless fun!

I love to garden berries, herbs, veggies and flowers. My kids actually get tired of raspberries by the end of summer because we always have so many!

We welcomed our daughter at a freestanding birth center, and our son at a planned home birth.
My Doula Journey
MY STORY
I birthed my son at home, and my daughter at a freestanding birth center. Both experiences were wonderful, amazing, exhilarating, and transcendental! I felt loved, supported, and celebrated by my husband, midwives, and doula. I came to realize, though, that my experience sadly was not the norm.
Many of the moms who shared their birth stories with me had very different, sometimes even traumatic, stories to tell. I knew in my heart that I wanted to make a difference in my birth community so I became a doula. I strive to make this difference by supporting expectant parents every step of the way, providing education on how wonderful birth can be, so they can give birth without fear!
MY PHILOSOPHY
Birth is a transformative experience. Having experienced two amazing births myself, my goal is to help others to have an experience they can reflect on as being positive and empowering.
Our bodies are capable of doing this amazing work of bringing new life into the world, and that should be celebrated! With emotional, informational, and physical support, my goal as a doula is for families to welcome babies with all the love, positivity, and support they deserve.
