My Doula Journey

MY STORY

After graduating from college, I found myself searching for my next path. During that time, someone close to me was struggling deeply with postpartum depression, and I began researching ways to support her. What started as a desire to help this one friend became a calling. I felt drawn to become a professional doula and dedicated my career to supporting growing families.

With seven years of experience as a nanny and a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, I was able to combine my passion for caregiving with a strong foundation in health and wellness. Looking back, those experiences prepared me for exactly where I am today, doing work as a doula that I truly love and feel honored to provide.

MY PHILOSOPHY

I believe that everyone deserves to be supported, heard, and reassured in their birth and postpartum period. No matter who you are, each postpartum has it's unique challenges and joys, and I hope to make them just a little bit easier (while also having a friend to talk to in the process)

I believe new moms should be fed well, sleeping as much as possible, and enjoying their baby every chance they get. The days are long, but the years are short.

What Clients Say...

- Brianna B.(Camas, WA)

Skyler was not only knowledgeable and respectful of our preferences but she is also very intuitive to our needs as new parents and individuals. We cannot express how thankful we are for Skyler and all that she has to offer.

Skyler made us feel confident as we made decisions throughout our birth and offered advice and help along the way. She was an invaluable member of our birth team and we highly recommend her doula services!

- Anna H. (Vancouver, WA)

We are so grateful to have met Skyler! She helped our family with newborn care when we were navigating some health concerns with our son. She is communicative, reliable, kind, and thoughtful.

Not to mention the patience and curiosity she espouses when working with our son. We had complete trust in her and are grateful she’s in our family’s circle. My partner and I comment on how Skyler saved us in a very hard time!

- Manisha (Portland, OR)

I had the extreme pleasure of having Skyler by my side as my doula for my first birth. I knew I wanted a doula for the additional support, empathy and advocate during my labor and delivery process.

Skyler was a natural support person at the bedside, with an incredibly calm demeanor and invaluable source of knowledge. Prior to giving birth, she took a lot of time to get to know me, my pregnancy journey and my goals for labor and delivery.

She was very thoughtful and provided me with so many helpful resources, from educational podcast references, to stretches and positions to help prepare for labor. She was easily reachable and available for questions.

During labor she offered very useful tips and positions to help speed up the process, and provided calming stress balls, aromatherapy, and a comforting hand when needed. Her presence helped me stay relaxed.

I'm very lucky to have gotten to work with her and highly recommend her for any expectant mom!

- Elana G. (Camas, WA)

Where do I begin? Skyler just absolutely incredible at what she does and was the perfect postpartum doula! From listening to me cry through the Baby Blues to making sure I have enough water and eat lunch, Skyler always knew exactly what my family and I needed in the moment.

She is extremely empathetic and has some kind of a sixth sense which helped her always do and say the right thing. The way she handled my toddler boys and my newborn baby girl with so much grace and patience was inspiring.

Skyler is extremely organized, clean, an amazing cook and creative with looking after the older kids. You cannot go wrong with hiring Skyler and I would even say, you absolutely need her to survive the postpartum period.

- Kayla W. (Vancouver, WA)

Skyler was my doula and a literal angel to my birth and postpartum experience. Throughout my first pregnancy, which had its share of unexpected twists and turns, she was my rock. Her calming presence, gentle touch, and reassuring words were always so comforting.

Thanks to her doula support, I felt empowered, strong, and capable of facing whatever came our way. I will forever treasure the role she played in bringing my precious baby into this world.

Looking forward to our consultation and hearing all about your hopes for your birth. I’m here for you every step of the way!
